Trump Clashes With Reporter at White House: “Quiet! What's Wrong With You? Are You a Sick Person?”

Washington, October 21, 2026. — U.S. President Donald Trump engaged in another heated confrontation with a journalist on Tuesday, October 20, sharply interrupting a reporter during a press exchange inside the Oval Office at the White House.

The confrontation involved Andrew Feinberg, White House correspondent for the British newspaper The Independent, who was attempting to ask questions during an event focused on a new government fraud whistleblower program.

“Quiet! Quiet! What's wrong with you? Are you a sick person?” Trump demanded as Feinberg tried to speak while another journalist was asking a question.

Tensions between the president and the reporter had already escalated earlier in the exchange when Feinberg questioned the financial incentives offered under the new program.

At one point, Trump issued a direct warning to the journalist, saying, “I don't know who the hell you are, but you better be careful.”

The incident adds to a growing list of confrontations between Trump and members of the press since he began his second presidential term in January 2025.

In November 2025, Trump drew criticism after telling Bloomberg journalist Catherine Lucey, “Quiet, piggy,” when she questioned him about the Jeffrey Epstein case aboard Air Force One.

The president has also made disparaging remarks toward other female journalists, including Akayla Gardner of MS NOW and Mary Bruce of ABC News, during previous White House exchanges.

The latest confrontation highlights the continuing tensions between the Trump administration and journalists seeking answers on government policies and presidential decisions.
