For 86 years, the HistoryMiami Museum has stood as a renowned institution; however, the world is changing, and so is the museum. Now, with a renewed focus, the Museum of Miami will not only concentrate on historical exhibitions but also highlight folklore, contemporary art, photography, and the community experiences that shape the very soul of our city. It is a constant tribute to the diverse voices that make up our vibrant community!
What’s Next: The Local Experience Expands
This summer, the Museum of Miami will be one of just eight national museums selected to exhibit historical documents fundamental to the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence. It is a unique opportunity to see, up close, artifacts such as George Washington’s Oath of Allegiance and an early draft of the Bill of Rights. An unparalleled experience.
But that is just the beginning. The community will witness innovative events that break down traditional barriers. One of the highlights will be an interactive digital mural exploring the nation’s early days, while "Cafecito Stories" will bring the ventanita tradition out onto the street, creating a unique storytelling atmosphere—Miami style. And the surprises don’t end there! CultureFest, returning to Tropical Park in January, will be a modern celebration of the city’s cultural heritage.
